On the morning of May 23rd, Professor Antonio Biondi and his team from the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment at University of Cataniain in Italy paid a visit to Guizhou University. Zhang Dalin, Vice President of GZU, met with the distinguished guests, along with representatives from the Office of International Relations and the Center for R&D of Fine Chemicals.
Zhang Dalin warmly received Antonio Biondi and his team and provided an overview of Guizhou University, with a particular emphasis on the development in the field of plant protection. Zhang stated that GZU sees the collaboration as a chance to strengthen ties between the two universities through initiatives like dual degree programs, faculty and student exchanges, shared research facilities, and forming international research teams. He is confident that this partnership will enhance cooperation between the two sides, ultimately contributing to their mutual growth and success.
Antonio Biondi presented the situation of University of Catania and said that China's higher education is steadily increasing its level of internationalization. He envisions a future where collaboration in plant protection can pave the way for expanded partnerships in dual degree programs, student training, and research exchange. Biondi invites more teachers and students from Guizhou University to participate in study and exchange programs at University of Catania, aiming to foster a stronger and more collaborative relationship between the two universities.
During the event, representatives from both sides jointly signed the “Cooperation Agreement between Guizhou University and University of Catania”.
