GZU Signs a Cooperation Agreement with Sandu County

On April 10, Guizhou University and Sandu County of Qiannan Prefecture recently conducted a symposium and officially signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, cultural inheritance, social governance, planning and design, protection and development of traditional villages and research on ecological protection, and sharing of resources between Guizhou University and Sandu County. Yang Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guizhou University, Zhang Dalin, Vice President of Guizhou University, Yang Kai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Sandu County and Governor of the County, Wang Qi, Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the County and Vice Governor of the County, and Li Linlong, Vice Governor of the County, attended the symposium.

Yang Kai expressed his gratitude to Guizhou University for its enduring concern and support for Sandu County, saying that as the only autonomous county of the Shui ethnic group, Sandu County boasts rich ethnic culture and intact ecological environment. Sandu County is a major forestry and agricultural county, a key county for national rural revitalization, serving as national function area. He hoped that Guizhou University could leverage its high-level talent and intellectual resources, providing decision-making consultation, technical guidance, and talent support in key areas such as industrial development, ethnic culture, urban construction, cultural tourism, agricultural product processing, as well as rural revitalization, so as to help Sandu County solve problems and promote high-quality development. At the same time, it was also hoped that Sandu County can become a practical training base for Guizhou University and a hot spot for scholars from Guizhou University to get employment and start entrepreneurship.

Yang Wei gave a brief introduction to Guizhou University. She said that in recent years, Guizhou University has actively served the national strategy as well as regional economic and social development. Guizhou University has also facilitated the construction of “Six Industrial Bases” and promoted the exploitation of mineral resources, firmly and unwaveringly writing scientific research papers on the land of Guizhou province. Through years of mutual exchanges and cooperation, Guizhou University and Sandu County have established a good foundation for cooperation. The two sides have committed to working together to boost the high-quality development and jointly highlighting the responsibility of promoting a new chapter of Chinese path to modernization in Guizhou. Based on the cooperation agreement signed by Guizhou University and Sandu County, she hoped that the two sides will carry out various cooperation so as to expand the scope and fields of collaboration. She pointed out that the two sides should take the needs of Sandu County as the driving force, focus on industrial development, promote the implementation of university-community cooperation, and jointly carry out practical cooperation in ethnic culture, scientific research projects, technical support, talent training, and other aspects, setting a new benchmark for university-community cooperation.

During the symposium, both parties signed a framework agreement for comprehensive cooperation and engaged in thorough discussions to exchange ideas on how to implement the agreement effectively.

After the symposium, Yang Wei led experts and scholars from Guizhou University to visit the fourth elementary school in Chengnan Community of Fengyu Street, the vocational skills training base of “water township workers” in the county, Zenlei Village, the famous Chinese traditional village, Dujiang Town, the famous historical and cultural town, to carry out on-site research. They also participated in the Cultural Space Orienteering Off-road Race in Sandu County, and held the unveiling ceremonies of Guizhou University’s Party Building Pairing for Rural Revitalization Workstation, Rural Revitalization Labor Practice Bases, and Rural Revitalization Workstation.

Representatives of the Party Committee Office, the President’s Office, the Youth League Committee, the Foreign Cooperation Office, the Institute of New Rural Development, the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, the College of Agriculture and the relevant departments of Sandu County attended the symposium.
