On October 21st, the volunteer training for the finals of the 18th Challenge Cup National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic and Sci-tech Works Competition was held at Guizhou University. The two-day training was attended by 1,720 “Little Green Pepper” volunteers from 10 universities, including Guizhou University, Guizhou Normal University, Guizhou Minzu University, and Guizhou University of Finance and Economics.
The “Little Green Pepper” volunteers are divided into three major groups: on-campus, off-campus, and supporting activities, including 12 subgroups such as one-on-one reception, welcome station service, and shuttle service, as well as 92 teams serving in check-in rooms and defense rooms. To ensure the quality of volunteer service, the training organizing committee invited local experts in tourism, etiquette, and emergency response to give lectures, using a variety of training methods that combine online and offline, general and personalized training.
“For courses on the situation of Guizhou Province, Guiyang City, and Guizhou University, we require unified teaching first, followed by post-class training for each group, and a review of basic knowledge and skills before taking up their posts. This solidifies relevant knowledge and strengthens the training effect”, said a person in charge of the volunteer service. He hoped that through the training, the “Little Green Peppers” will not only become volunteers who embody the spirit of dedication but also become “volunteer communicators” and promoters who tell the story of Guizhou and promote its unique characteristics.
Next, the training organizing committee will improve volunteer service according to the requirements for volunteer service, providing sincere, high-quality, efficient and attentive service for the finals of the Challenge Cup Competition.
