On the morning of October 12, the Youth Development Department of the Communist Youth League Central Committee (CYLCC) and Guizhou University held a symposium to plan for the 18th “Challenge Cup” Competition. The event took place in Room 302 of Building 1, Xianzheng Building, West Campus of GZU. Key attendees included Huang Dawei, Director of the CYLCC’s Youth Development Department; Zhou Xuan Yu, Deputy Director of the CYLCC’s Practice Education Department; Shi Qilin, Secretary of the Provincial Youth League Committee; Li Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth League Committee; Yang Wei, Secretary of the CPC GZU Committee; Academician Song Bao’an, President of GZU; Linghu Caitao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC GZU Committee; and Zhang Dalin, Vice President of GZU. Heads of relevant departments from the CYLCC’s Youth Development Department, the Provincial Youth League Committee, and GZU also participated.
Huang Dawei expressed his hope that hosting the 18th “Challenge Cup” competition would be an opportunity for GZU to enhance its overall strength. With the competition nearing, he underscored the importance of thorough preparations, fulfilling responsibilities, and ensuring precision in critical aspects of organizing the competition and managing security arrangements.
Shi Qilin envisioned GZU cultivating an “ecosystem” from the “Challenge Cup” competition by embodying the ideals of promoting learning, teaching, and innovation through competition. This involves fostering a strong atmosphere of campus innovation and entrepreneurship and facilitating the transformation of competition results. The aim is to unleash the full potential of the competition.
Yang Wei conveyed gratitude to the CYLCC and the Provincial Youth League Committee for their affirmation and trust in GZU. She emphasized the pivotal role of the “Challenge Cup” in guiding and promoting the university’s academic atmosphere and scientific research. GZU places high importance on this competition, and its various departments will engage in further comprehensive consultations and collaboration regarding overall arrangements and detailed deployment to address any potential gaps. They are committed to making earnest final preparations for the event on a regular basis, ensuring that all working groups are fully ready.
Song Bao’an stressed that hosting the 18th “Challenge Cup” competition at GZU is not only significant for the university but also crucial for Guizhou Province. The entire university will unite and cooperate closely, adhering strictly to relevant requirements. They will identify any issues in the preparation, rectify any inadequacies, and ensure the successful hosting of the competition to showcase the new outlook of GZU.
