The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the entry of various teams. Referee representative Zheng Zhibing and athlete representative Xu Nuo took oaths on stage. Linghu Caitao delivered an opening speech before Yang Wei officially announced the opening of the event. In her speech, Linghu recognized the phenomenal outcome achieved by GZU students in various national and provincial sports competitions held this year. This underscored GZU's efforts in creating a culture of athletic atmosphere and incorporating physical education into academic pursuits. The Sports Events have become a key channel for the university to demonstrate its commitment in implementing CPC's educational policy through sports education. Linghu expressed hope that everyone would exhibit their best athletic level as well as the spirit of the university. Above all, all faculty, staff, and students should demonstrate moral support for and bond with one another through collaborative and collective efforts to embody the spirit of the university.

During the ceremony, students presented artistic performances including dragon-lion dances, Miao folk dances, Grand Song of the Dong ethnic groups, and aerobics. The Sports Events will end on October 13th, with sports programs for both faculty and students who will participate in 13 major events including basketball, football, volleyball, and track and field.
