On September 6th, Guizhou University held a meeting to summarize the 2023 National Natural Science Foundation procedure and to outline the application for that of 2024.

At the meeting, President Song Bao'an stressed that all colleges and research institutions should attach great importance to the application of National Natural Science Foundation. It's vital to display initiative and enthusiasm during the application process，and efforts should be made to create favorable conditions for the application. All colleges and research institutions are also urged to optimize services to foster a good academic environment.

Wu Fuzhong, dean of the Institute of Science and Technology, summarized the procedure of the National Natural Science Foundation 2023 and outlined plans for the 2024 application. He stated though the application has been improving in recent years, there is still room for further development. In the future, a top-down work mechanism should be established to ensure quality improvement in work deployment throughout the process. By adhering to the "Five Up, Five Down" process, effective supervision should be exercised to ensure high-quality application.

During the meeting, Zou Yonghua, the dean of Hainan University's Institute of Science and Technology Development, and Pan Weidong, the dean of Guizhou University's College of Pharmacy, shared their insights.

Chen Xiangsheng, Vice President of Guizhou University, highlighted that all colleges and research institutions should summarize the process of 2023 foundation application and implement the activation of that for 2024. He stressed that new progress and breakthroughs in foundation application will further promote the university's “Double First-Class” initiative and its high-quality development.
