Recently, the finals of the 8th National College Students Life Science Competition ended successfully. Teams from GZU’s College of Agriculture and College of Life Sciences won 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, and 10 third prizes in the finals.
Students of GZU participate in the finals of the 8th National College Students Life Science Competition (innovation and entrepreneurship category).
Among them, Luo Dan’s team (mentored by Liao Xun) won the first prize in the innovation and entrepreneurship category. Jiang Chao’s team (mentored by Huang Weiting and Fang Zhongming) and Yang Lihang’s team (mentored by Luo Rui) claimed the second prizes in the scientific inquiry category. In addition, the team led by Gongsang Yangjin and mentored by Chen Xiaoyulong, secured the second prize in the innovation and entrepreneurship category.

According to the organizing committee of the Guizhou Provincial College Students Life Science Competition, GZU will host the 6th Guizhou Provincial College Students Life Science Competition in 2024.
The flag of the Guizhou Provincial College Students Life Science Competition is handed to Professor Fang Zhongming of the Agricultural College of GZU.
It’s worth noting that the National College Students Life Science Competition has been held for several years since 2017. With its wide coverage, large number of participants, and high requirements for competition projects, it stands as one of the most influential national collegiate competitions in the field of life sciences. In 2023, Guizhou University registered 14 teams for the innovation and entrepreneurship category and 68 teams for the scientific inquiry category. In the Guizhou Provincial College Students Life Science Competition hosted by Zunyi Medical University, four teams from Guizhou University won first prizes and successfully qualified for the national finals. Other teams from the University won 8 second prizes and 17 third prizes, ranking among the top in the province in terms of total awards.
