From July 29th to August 5th, Contestants from College of Music of Guizhou University exceled with 22 Awards at the 9th Annual Chinese Peafowl Award for Higher Art Academy Vocal Performance Competition held at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.
This national-level contest showcased an eminent panel of vocal education experts and renowned singers, including Yang Yan, Wei Song, Zhao Dengying, and other luminaries, who lent their expertise as judges. Out of an impressive cohort of 49 undergraduate and graduate students from Guizhou University (GZU) who entered the semi-finals, 22 advanced to the final and garnered 2 golds, 3 silvers, 4 bronzes, and 13 excellent awards. College of Music, GZU, was honored with the Outstanding Organization Award.
Long Yunjin: gold award in the folk-singing category for graduates at normal universities
Yan Ting: gold award in the bel canto category for graduates at normal universities
Zhao Changgu: silver award in the folk-singing category for graduates at normal universities
Cheng Peixuan: silver award in the folk-singing category for undergraduates at normal universities
Yang Taian: silver award in the popular-singing category for teachers and graduate students from pop music schools.
Chen Cheng: bronze award in the bel canto category for graduates at normal universities
Xu Zhenjian: bronze award in the bel canto category for undergraduates at normal universities
Xu Wei: bronze award in the bel canto category for undergraduates at normal universities
Chen Zuowei: bronze award in the musical category
Dai Jiaqi: excellent award in the bel canto category for graduates at normal universities
Ren Kewu: excellent award in the bel canto category for graduates at normal universities
Hu Xia: excellent award in the folk-singing category for graduates at normal universities
Zhou Can: excellent award in the musical category
Luo Pingping: excellent award in the bel canto category for graduates at normal universities
Xiang Jiaqi: excellent award in the musical category
Zhang Xiaolu: excellent award in the folk-singing category for undergraduates at normal universities

Wang Hongyuan: excellent award in the bel canto category for undergraduates at normal universities
Li Minrui: excellent award in the musical category
These outstanding results underscore the remarkable performance of both faculty and students and lay a solid foundation for the quality development of College of Music of GZU and the progress in its construction of the national first-class program, "Music Performance".
It’s noted that the 9th Annual Chinese Peafowl Award for Higher Art Academy Vocal Performance Competition stands as the singular and enduring comprehensive vocal competition for higher education institutions in China. It enjoys the esteemed status of being one of China's highest-rated A-class awards in the realm of vocal music, boasting substantial academic influence and professional recognition within the music industry. This year's competition brought together nearly 2,000 participants from over 300 higher art institutions at home and abroad. The event encompassed awards for exceptional works, captivating performances, insightful theoretical reviews, and lifetime achievements.
