GZU Holds the First Guizhou Science and Technology Festival & Forum on Cutting-edge Technology

On August 5th, Guizhou University hosted the First Guizhou Science and Technology Festival & Forum on Cutting-edge Technology. This event was backed by the Guizhou Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Yang Tongguang, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province delivered a keynote speech.

Among the esteemed attendees were Lin Ping, Deputy Mayor and member of Guiyang City's Municipal Party Committee; provincial leadership from departments overseeing Science and Technology, Education, and Ecology and Environment; and noted Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. The gathering also drew delegates from various research institutions, universities, and corporate sectors were present. Wu Pan, Vice President of Guizhou University, chaired the event.

Highlighting the forum, several prominent Academicians took the stage to share their insights:

  • Liu Wenqing from the Chinese Academy of Engineering elaborated on "Advancements in Hyperspectral Detection Technology for Atmospheric Environment". He underscored the essence of environmental betterment: the symbiotic relationship between humans and the environment. Central to this is the pivot towards greener developmental strategies.

  • Shi Bi from the Chinese Academy of Engineering spoke about the "Importance and Methodologies of Advancing Bulk Biomass Material Production Technology". Surveying global trends, he asserted that capitalizing on biomass resources aligns with the mission of the "dual carbon" initiatives.

  • Ma Kejian from the Chinese Academy of Engineering centered his talk on "Measures for 'Ecological Governance and Pollution Prevention' in Construction Projects". He emphasized that the nation's scientific trajectory hinges on innovation. The most fundamental aspect of implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development is to enhance independent innovation capabilities and reinforce technology as the cornerstone of national growth.

  • Zhou Shaoqi from International Eurasian Academy of Sciences delved into the "Latest Findings in Rural Wastewater Management Techniques in Karst Regions". He mapped out the landscape of rural pollution, dissected the nuances of pollution technological demands, and outlined the phased evolution of the science-tech innovation continuum. With current implementations showing promising results, he expressed optimism about wider adoption, championing the twin goals of ecological conservation and pollution and prevention.

After the keynote speeches, participants engaged in discussions around the forum's theme.

Before the meeting, Li Jianjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guizhou University, met with the leaders and guests attending the forum.
