On July 12th, the 2023 Guizhou Internet Culture Festival and Internet Civilization Promotion Season, known as the "Internet Civilization Guizhou Action," commenced in Guiyang. During the opening ceremony, the Guizhou Province Positive Energy Online Works Contest awards were presented. GZU's Party Committee Publicity Department earned the title of "Outstanding Organizing Unit" for its contributions to the 2022 Guizhou Province Positive Energy Online Works Contest, themed "Singing Praises of the New Era, Building Dreams for the New Journey." Additionally, GZU's work titled "Look! These Campus 'Magazine Shots' from Guizhou University are Trending," produced by the Xishan Media Center, received the "Excellent Work Award" in the picture category.

In 2022, GZU enhanced campus internet culture through two key initiatives. First, it organized the 3rd GZU Student Internet Culture Studio selection, encouraging active student participation in innovative online cultural activities. Second, it curated exceptional online works from across the campus for the Guizhou Province Positive Energy Online Works Contest. This endeavor yielded positive results, with two narratives from GZU being chosen for the provincial excellent story series: "Conveying Era's Tales through Online Works" by the Xishan Internet Culture Studio and "Radiating Youthful Grace, Expressing Cultural Allure" by Zhang Mengrou, an educator at GZU. The Xishan Internet Culture Studio also earned recognition as an "Outstanding Member Unit for Internet Civilization Practice" from the Guizhou Internet Culture Development Association.

The award-winning work, "Look! These Campus 'Magazine Shots' from Guizhou University are Trending," initially made its debut on Guizhou University's official WeChat account. It creatively turned campus landscapes into four captivating magazine covers: "Great Beauty of Xishan," "Youth of Xishan," "Learning at Xishan," and "Xishan Figures," highlighting the university's cultural heritage through stunning visuals.
