On July 22, the 2023 International Conference on Green Plant Protection Innovation Conference convened in Qingdao. Present at the conference were over 300 experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from countries including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, and others. 71 thematic reports were held on the topics of agricultural technology, green plant protection, food safety, etc., involving cutting-edge technologies in plant protection. Academician Song Bao'an, president of Guizhou University, attended the conference and delivered a thematic report.
In his address, Song stressed the role of this conference as a hub for the convergence of diverse agricultural resources and innovative elements, in advancing the ecological sustainability in agriculture and the transition towards a greener agricultural sector. By harnessing innovative tools, technologies, breakthroughs, and visionary ideas, the conference aims to ignite the drive of enterprises in their innovation, development and transformation, which, in turn, will effectively bolster international collaboration in agricultural technology and science, fulfilling the growing demand for environmentally responsible consumption, said Song. He emphasized that the conference has effectively established a premier global platform for academic exchange in the realm of plant protection technology for universities, research institutions, talents, and enterprises, offering insights into the high-quality and sustainable development of agriculture.
The conference, themed "Green Plant Protection Technology: Discovering Molecular Targets," is a collaborative effort between Guizhou University and the Administrative Committee for Qingdao Area of China (Shangdong) Free Trade Zone, with supports from Qingdao KingAgroot Crop Science Co., Ltd. Renowned academicians and experts, including Professor Li Tianlai from Shenyang Agricultural University, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Chen Jianping, director of Institute of Plant Virology at Ningbo University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, shared their latest accomplishments in advancing plant protection technology, pest and disease management, and enhancing the quality of agricultural products, thus exploring green plant protection technology and offering a collaborative vision for the future of agricultural science and technology.
