On May 12th, a delegation from Soochow University in Taiwan, led by Dong Baocheng, its vice president, visited GZU and a symposium was held.

Zhou Shaoqi, vice presidentof GZU attended the symposium and delivered a welcome speech. He expressed his welcome and gratitude to Dong Baocheng and his delegation and introduced the exchange and cooperation programs of GZU. Zhou stressed that 2023 is key to the construction of Guizhou University’s “double first-class”, to its high-quality development and to the improvement of its schooling. It is meaningful to further its cooperation with Soochow University in the field of education. He hoped that the two universities would continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and promote their education exchanges and cooperation to a new level.

Dong Baocheng stressed that Soochow University values inclusion and diversity, and welcomed teachers and students of GZU to go to Soochow University for exchange and study.He hoped that his visit can further strengthen the cooperation between the two universities in the fields of academic exchange and student training, and facilitate their student exchanges.

In 2014, GZU signed a cooperation agreement with Soochow University. Since then, a friendly relationship has been established officiallybetween the two universities, and achievements has been made in teacher and student exchanges and other aspects.
