On the morning of May 6th, a delegation from Macau China Innovation and TechnologyDevelopment Promotion Association visited GuizhouUniversity anda meeting was held for discussions and exchanges.Attendees included Qu Bailai, Chairman of Macau China Innovation and Technology Development Promotion Association,Luo Changjiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of GZU, Kong Xianglong, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Division of the United Front Work Department of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee,and Wu Shengyan, an official of Guizhou Provincial Department of Education. The meeting was chaired by Wu Pan, Vice President of the university.

Luo Changjiang made an overall introduction to GZU in terms of its advantages, academic level, discipline construction, and student scale. He expressed his hope that the Association can provide more care and support to our university. Firstly, support GZU to jointly apply for research projects with universities in Macau, hold academic seminars, expand the scale of student and teacher exchanges, and vigorously carry out joint graduate education and training cooperation. Secondly, support GZU to establish a patriotic education base to undertake patriotic training programs at all levels for Macau students’, so as to disseminate Chinese culture to them and further enhance their sense of identity and belonging to the motherland. Thirdly, he hopes that the Association can promote GZU to Macau secondary schools and other educational institutions, so that we can better carry out the publicity of enrollmentand thus jointly promote educational exchange and cooperation between GZU and Macau to a new level.

Qu Bailai briefly introduced the basic situation of Macau universities. He stated that the Association will act as a bridge between Guizhou and Macau universities to expand cooperation between the two sides, so as to achieve resource sharing and common development.

Kong Xianglong emphasized that both sides should engage in deep cooperation in talent cultivation, research projects, discipline construction and other aspects, and  implement the cooperation between the two sides as soon as possible.

Wu Shengyan said that Guizhou Provincial Department of Education will further improve its service to advance cooperation projects between both sides. It is hoped that Guizhou University willplaya positive role in cooperating with universities in Macau and provide intellectual support for local economic and social development.

During the meeting, attendees exchanged ideas on discipline development and expressed their willingness to cooperate between GZU and universities in Macau.
