Delegation of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu Visits GZU

On the morning of April 18th, a delegation led by Li Yunyan, director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu (Hong Kong Special Administrative Government) visited Guizhou University. GZU Vice President Qii Si attended the meeting.

Qi Si introduced GZU’s history, disciplines, talents, foreign cooperation and so on. He expressed that it is the time to further deepen pragmatic cooperation in education with Hong Kong. He hoped that the Office can give support to GZU in three aspects: first, to support GZU in expanding its "Circle of friends" in Hong Kong; second, to support the establishment of a Hong Kong national education training base at GZU; and third, to recommend Hong Kong secondary schools and other educational institutions for GZU’s enrollment program in Hong Kong in May. He hoped that with the joint efforts of both sides, education exchange and cooperation will reach a new level.

Li Yunyan, the director of the Office, expressed her hope that Guizhou University can deepen its cooperation with Hong Kong in scientific research, as well as promote the implementation and landing of scientific research results. At the same time, she mentioned the “Four New Centers” of Hong Kong’s development, namely an international aviation hub center, an international innovation and technology center, a regional intellectual property trading center, and a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and other countries. She hoped that both sides can achieve win-win cooperation in the above areas.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged ideas about policy services, further education, internships, scientific research projects and so on. After the meeting, the attendees participated in a briefing on Hong Kong’s “Qiality Migrant Admission Schemeat Mingjun Building.
