On April 1st, the first session of Energy and Materials Chemistry Frontier Science Forum was held at GZU (Guizhou University), co-organized by the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the College of Materials and Metallurgy. Among the officials present at the opening ceremony were Wu Pan, vice president of GZU, and Ding Liming, a researcher at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
With an introduction to the history, disciplines and researchers of this field at GZU, Wu Pan said the university has focused on developing characteristic advantageous disciplines and contributing to Guizhou’s scientific research according to related policies and strategies for innovation and development. This forum, he said, serves a platform to exchange information and views on the latest technological and scientific progress in energy and materials chemistry and will exert profound influence on innovative development of the related colleges. He hopes that the departments and colleges concerned can give full play to their disciplinary and talent advantages to promote the construction of “new engineering disciplines”, and seek high-quality development through scientific and technological innovation.
Ding Liming told about his research experiences in Guizhou Province and at GZU. He hopes that all participants can benefit from this forum, strengthen communication and contact, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and further promote the construction and development of the disciplines at GZU.
After the opening ceremony, academic reports were made by famous professors and researchers from different universities and research institutes such as Nankai University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.
