On March 2nd, the Academic Affairs Office of GZU organized a kick-off meeting for the provincial discipline evaluation, arranging the evaluation work of five majors, including chemistry, biological science, physics, materials science and engineering, and chemical engineering and technology.
Chen Xiangsheng, vice president of GZU, emphasized the importance of and proposed requirements for the evaluation, including a work team to be set up, experts to be invited, plans to be made, and phased progress to be achieved for the evaluation preparation
The five majors to be evaluated are all national first-class majors of GZU, among which two majors, materials science and engineering and chemical engineering and technology, passed the China Engineering Education Professional Certification. At the meeting, Chen pointed out that results of the discipline evaluation are important indicators for the assessment of the high-quality development of GZU by the Department of Education and also an important basis for the dynamic adjustment of GZU's majors. The participants studied the evaluation index system carefully and made an in-depth exchange on how to carry out the professional evaluation.
