On the morning of October 20, a symposium was held on students’ affairs between the leaders and students on the East Campus of Guizhou University (GZU). Present at the symposium were Song Bao’an, the GZU president and an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Dalin and Wu Pan, vice presidents, the heads of relevant departments, and undergraduate and graduate representatives from different colleges. The symposium was presided over by Linghu Caitao, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of GZU.
During the meeting, the student representatives asked questions and talked about the problems in their life and study at GZU, such as curriculum arrangement, accommodation, service attitude of relevant departments, campus transportation, infrastructures, etc. The leadership and heads of relevant departments responded to the questions.
Linghu Caitao talked about the university’s efforts and progress in solving the problems raised at the previous symposium. She said that the university attaches great importance to its students’ opinions and suggestions and has coordinated different departments in the solution and received timely feedbacks.
Song Bao’an emphasized that all the work at GZU is student-centered and all the departments and colleges should optimize their plans, keep informed of students’ needs and problems, specify responsibilities to meet their needs and solve their problems according to the concrete situations and past experiences. Particularly, he pointed out the importance of epidemic prevention and control and fire control. He hoped all the GZU units to take the initiative to provide good services and education for the students in light with the guiding principles from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
