Hatyai University and Guizhou University Sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Academic Research Cooperation

Guizhou University had an online signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding concerning the development of academic research cooperation with Hatyai University on March 30, 2021. The ceremony was attended by Wittawat Didyasarin Sattayarak, president of Hatyai University; Wu Zhenwen, Chinese principal of Wan Li Tong Language School; Nongnuch Chivasrirungrueng, Thai principal of Wan Li Tong Language School; and Wu Pan, vice president of Guizhou University. The academic assistant to the president of Hatyai University, heads and staff from the Guizhou University Foreign Affairs Office and Hatyai’s Universty’s International School, and leaders and staff from both the Office of International Relations and College of International Education of Guizhou University also attended the meeting. Hong Yun, director of Office of International Relations of GZU, presided over the ceremony.

In the ceremony, Wu Pan, vice president of Guizhou University, briefly introduced the current cooperation status between Guizhou University and Hatyai University. He stated that both sides have decided to further cooperate in joint undergraduate programs, student exchange programs, and short-term study. He hoped that the signing of the MoU would initiate further implementation of these programs by fostering talent exchanges and research cooperation for both sides in order to promote the friendship and development of higher education between Chinese and Thai universities.


Wittawat Didyasarin Sattayarak, president of Hatyai University, also delivered remarks at the ceremony. He introduced the history of Hatyai University and its development, and he expected to develop fruitful cooperation with Guizhou University through a strong and robust partnership and create a brighter future for the education of both sides.

Vice President Wu Pan signed the MoU on behalf of Guizhou University, and Wittawat Didyasarin Sattayarak, president of Hatyai University, signed the MoU on behalf of his institution.

It is reported that Hatyai University is the first private university in southern Thailand and is the fastest growing Thai university in its country. It was listed as the second “green university” in southern Thailand in according to the 2020UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. Upon the signing of this memorandum of understanding, Guizhou University will work with Hatyai University in the exchanges of faculty, students, and scientific research to encourage comprehensive cooperation.
