According to the Natural Science Foundation of China’s (NSFC) latest notice, the project of “The Block Data Integration Analysis Theory and the Security Management Model for Data Sharing” (No. U1836205) received 2.43 million yuan of funding from the NSFC—General Technology Basic Research Joint Fund. This project is based at GZU and was launched by Professor Peng Changgen, Executive Deputy Director of the Public Big Data Key Laboratory and Deputy Dean of Guizhou Institute of Big Data Development and Application.

The NSFC—General Technology Basic Research Joint Fund has been co-sponsored since 2005 by the Natural Science Foundation of China and the China Institute of General Technology. It aims to attract scientists and research teams from all over the country to address major general scientific and technological problems, which is a key part of the blueprint of the China Institute of General Technology to serve the development of China.

Based at GZU, the Public Big Data Key Laboratory aims to serve the development of the big data industry by promoting basic research and its application as well as the local big data industry. It is positioned for the needs of “integration, communication and application” of big data, and is intended to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies and common technological issues of big data application. It is about to enter the construction period as a national key laboratory. The project of the Laboratory, with its emphases on the three issues of “big data collection and integration technology,” “public big data security and privacy protection,” and “block data and regional management,” will address the needs and problems in the “integration, communication and application” of block data. With integration analyses and security management as the main research areas, it will explore basic theories and technological systems concerning data integration, knowledge integration, in-depth analyses, data security and credibility tracing in block data sharing, which will lay a theoretical and technological foundation for block data application.
